Kahoa Elementary School
Kahoa Elementary School, originally constructed in 1972, had the need for additional classrooms, ADA improvements, and Indoor Air Quality improvements. Design Phase I included four new classrooms for kindergarten students to accommodate full-day classes. Each classroom was provided with handicap accessible restrooms, open front student lockers, and expansive storage to meet the instructor's needs. During Phase I, security and monitoring of the kindergarten students was the driving force of the design.
Phase II included a complete renovation of the original school for Indoor Air Quality improvements and upgrades to the existing classroom space. A new administration area was added with security entry, three new classrooms, and new mechanical spaces to improve educational capabilities and capacity.
